Erice, the medieval town
From the Castle of Venus, there is a breathtaking view from Marsala to the Egadi Islands and San Vito. A must-try are the “genovesi” and all the almond-flavored Ericini pastries. Thanks to the great scientist from Trapani Antonino Zichichi, Erice has been home since 1963 to the “Ettore Majorana” Center for Scientific Culture, which deals with subjects ranging from medicine to law, history to astronomy, philology to chemistry. For this reason Erice has been given the name “City of Science.”
